Submission Preparation Checklist
Please ensure your manuscript meets all the following requirements before submitting:
1. Manuscript Preparation
- Manuscript text double-spaced in a single column, using Times New Roman font (12-point).
- Page numbers included.
- Margins of at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
2. Title and Author Information
- Concise, descriptive, and informative title.
- Author names clearly listed, with corresponding author identified by an asterisk (*).
- Author affiliations provided clearly beneath author names.
- Complete contact details (email, mailing address) of the corresponding author provided.
3. Abstract and Keywords
- Abstract concise (typically 150–250 words), clearly summarizing objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Abstract can stand alone without references, figures, or tables.
- 3–6 meaningful keywords included for indexing and discoverability.
4. Main Text Structure
- Sections organized clearly in this standard sequence:
Introduction
Experimental Section (or Methods)
Results
Discussion (can be combined as Results & Discussion)
Conclusions (brief and focused) - All abbreviations defined upon first use.
5. Figures and Tables
- Figures numbered consecutively, with clearly labeled captions provided separately at the end of the manuscript.
- Tables numbered consecutively, with clear and informative titles positioned above each table.
- Figures and Tables properly cited in the text and included at the end of the manuscript or uploaded separately as per journal requirements.
- Figures in acceptable resolution (typically 300 dpi or higher).
6. References and Citations
- References formatted according to ACS style:
Journal Article: Author Last Name, Initials.; Title of Article. Journal Title Year, Volume, Pages.
Book Chapter: Author Last Name, Initials. Title of Chapter. In Title of Book; Editor(s) Last Name, Initials, Eds.; Publisher: Place of Publication, Year; Pages. - Citations numbered sequentially in the order they appear in text using superscript numbers.
7. Supporting Information
- Supplementary materials clearly labeled and uploaded separately.
- Each supporting file described briefly in the main manuscript.
8. Ethics and Compliance
- Conflict-of-interest disclosures clearly provided.
- Ethical statements for studies involving human/animal subjects included.
- Funding sources or acknowledgments explicitly stated.
9. Cover Letter
- Concise statement of manuscript significance, novelty, and suitability for the journal.
- Confirmation that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere.
10. Final Checks
- Manuscript proofread for grammar, spelling, clarity, and formatting consistency.
Research Articles
1. Scope and Originality
- Manuscripts must present original research related specifically to qNMR.
- Submitted work should not have been previously published nor currently be under consideration by another publication.
2. Structure and Length
- Articles should clearly present the objectives, methods, results, and significance of the research.
- Manuscripts typically should not exceed 7,000 words, excluding references and supplementary material. Exceptions can be considered if justified.
3. Experimental Standards
- Experimental procedures and analytical methodologies must be described in detail sufficient for replication.
- Authors should follow recognized best practices and international standards relevant to qNMR.
4. Data Availability
- Authors must ensure that experimental data, including spectra, analytical results, and supporting calculations, are available upon request or deposited in an appropriate repository, if applicable.
5. Ethics and Integrity
- Research must conform to ethical standards, including compliance with institutional guidelines.
- Conflict-of-interest statements, ethical approval, and informed consent disclosures must be clearly provided where applicable.
6. Peer Review
- All research articles undergo rigorous peer review by at least two independent experts.
- Authors are expected to revise manuscripts based on reviewer and editorial feedback.
Review
1. Scope and Relevance
- Reviews must cover significant areas relevant to qNMR, providing critical analysis, insights, and perspectives.
- Topics should reflect current interests and developments, identifying trends, challenges, and future research directions.
2. Originality and Scholarly Merit
- Review articles must represent original scholarly efforts, critically synthesizing and evaluating existing literature.
- Submissions should not duplicate previously published reviews without substantial updates or new perspectives.
3. Structure and Length
- Reviews should include clearly defined sections such as an introduction, thematic subsections, and a conclusion summarizing key insights.
- Typically, review articles should not exceed 10,000 words (excluding references and supplementary material), unless previously agreed upon by the editors.
4. Literature Coverage
- Authors must comprehensively reference relevant and recent literature.
- Emphasis should be placed on significant contributions and developments within the past 5-10 years, although older foundational work may also be included as appropriate.
5. Figures, Tables, and Illustrations
- Figures and tables should effectively summarize key findings or trends in the field.
- All figures and tables must meet journal formatting guidelines and include clear, informative captions.
6. Peer Review Process
- All review articles undergo rigorous peer review by experts in qNMR to ensure accuracy, comprehensiveness, objectivity, and quality.
- Authors must be prepared to revise manuscripts based on reviewer and editorial feedback.
Short Communication
Short Communications in The Quantitative NMR Journal are concise, focused reports highlighting significant preliminary findings, novel methodologies, or timely advancements in qNMR.
1. Scope and Significance
- Manuscripts must clearly describe impactful findings or methodological innovations within the scope of qNMR.
- Content should represent a substantial scientific contribution warranting rapid dissemination.
2. Length and Format
- Short Communications should be concise, typically not exceeding 3,000 words (excluding references and supplementary material).
- Manuscripts should include a brief abstract (~150 words), a concise main body, and minimal but informative references.
3. Structure
- Typically structured into three main sections:
- Introduction (concise background and clear objective)
- Results and Discussion (combined)
- Conclusions (briefly summarizing significance and implications)
- Extensive methodological details can be included as supplementary material if required.
4. Figures and Tables
- Limited to a maximum of 3 figures/tables combined.
- Figures and tables must clearly illustrate and support the key findings presented.
5. Peer Review Process
- Short Communications undergo rapid peer review focused on the novelty, clarity, and significance of the findings.
- Authors should be prepared for prompt manuscript revisions based on editorial and reviewer feedback.
